My journey as a doll clothes designer began long before I even knew it. Growing up in Brazil, dolls were my world, but they weren't always within reach. My parents couldn't afford to buy me the dolls I dreamed of, so I found other ways to play, creating my own dolls from simple things like cords and shoelaces.

When I was a little girl, my aunt, Ana Luiza, lived with us. She was a seamstress, and her sewing machine was her livelihood. I wasn't allowed to touch her expensive machine, but she gave me and my older sister something even better: a needle and thread. I loved making tiny dresses for my handmade dolls, even though they didn't look as perfect as my aunt's creations, but it was my way of playing, of dreaming.

The doll I truly longed for, though, was a Barbie. Back then, Barbies were rare in Brazil, luxury items, exclusive and very expensive and there were not much imitations or alternatives. My family could never afford one. It wasn’t until I was an adult, already married, that I bought my very first Barbie. Later, after my daughter was born, I made sure to buy her every kind of Barbie. Interestingly, they weren’t her favorites, but for me, they were and still are very special.

Life went on. I faced ups and downs, a divorce, a second marriage, and a new beginning. I must admit, life has a funny way of coming full circle. I moved to Canada in 2016, then, about two years ago, I stumbled back into a childhood joy, a new passion that felt like destiny: sewing clothes for Barbie dolls. Forty years later, the magic of creating beautiful, unique doll clothes was still alive. What began as a simple hobby quickly became a passion. I never imagined it would become a business, but my family and friends loved what I was making and encouraged me to share my creations with others. They saw something in those ting clothes that I had only ever felt in my heart: the beauty of imagination through a doll’s world.

And so, here I am. I design and sew custom jeans, overalls, dress shirts, skirts, blazer sets, jackets, each piece infused with imagination, nostalgia, and care. For me, it’s more than just doll clothes. Through my work, I share a piece of my heart. I connect with others who share the same joy that dolls brought to my childhood, I share my passion with doll lovers everywhere!

Metamorphochic is a brand that celebrates creativity, nostalgia, and the joy of transformation and that’s how my brand was born, not just from fabric and thread, but from memories, resilience, and a lifelong love for dolls.
